Schuerch Corporation
It’s always a good sign when a business has to move to a
larger space due to expansion. This was also the case with ten-year
old Schuerch Corporation, which relocated to a more spacious,
industrial facility on Oval Road to hold some of their new, larger
equipment last December. Schuerch Corporation designs, develops
and manufactures surgical table accessories used by hospitals
and outpatient surgery centers all over the country. Schuerch
Corporation’s product list includes over 75 accessories
that optimize the position of the surgical patient, in turn improve
access to the surgical site, allowing the surgeon to perform the
operating with extreme precision and confidence.
In the ten years that Peter Schuerch has headed Schuerch Corporation,
he has worked closely with Quincy 2000. Quincy 2000 has granted
Peter a total of three loans; he received $25,000 in 1997, $50,000
in 1999 and $25,000 in 2005. In all three instances the money
was used towards working capital and product development. Peter
says, “These loans were vital to us.” Quincy 2000
has also helped with business planning all throughout the years.
The company currently employees six people and is planning on
hiring a few more people in the next couple of months. “We
now have a very competitive product line with a much stronger
customer base. We also have a national sales force promoting the
SchureMed brand name,” says Peter. His future goals include
simultaneously increasing the company's manufacturing capability
and marketing efforts on a national level. None of this would
be possible without the help of Quincy 2000.
