“Working together, business
and government leaders promote Quincy’s economic vitality
through Quincy 2000 Collaborative, a true public/private partnership,
making the city an exceptional place to live, work, invest
and visit.”
- Mayor Tom Koch |
Quincy 2000 Collaborative helps businesses thrive.
It’s a private, non-profit economic development corporation
that unites Quincy's public and private sectors in a common economic
development mission. Working together, business and government
leaders promote Quincy’s economic vitality and make the
city an exceptional place to live, work, invest and visit.
Since 1992, Quincy 2000 has played a vital role in attracting
new business to the city, helping existing businesses grow, improving
the business landscape with sign and façade improvements
and providing technical and financial support for new and emerging
businesses. A true public/private partnership, the organization
today is proud to have membership from a wide cross section of
industries, labor and business groups as well as city officials.
Quincy 2000's operating budget is driven by membership dues from
business, labor unions and individuals. In turn, the City of Quincy
provides funding for specific programs through the federal Community
Development Block Grant Program.
Policy is set by a Board
of Directors representing businesses large and small, labor
unions and city government, while a full-time staff in conjunction
with volunteer committees implements the program. In addition
to the business assistance
and financing programs, newly established Business
Partnerships focus on enhancing individual business districts,
while the Asian
Business Partnership fosters the growth and success of the
Asian business community.
Whether it is helping to write a business plan, obtain financing,
open a business in Quincy, encouraging a business to relocate
to Quincy, providing loans to help existing businesses grow, developing
plans for local business districts or supporting the City’s
economic initiatives,
Quincy 2000 makes it happen.
